Description
Fet, V. Nad bezdnoi. Stikhi etogo goda [Above the Abyss. Poems of This Year]. Kyiv: Drukarskii dvir Oleha Fedorova. 2022. 136 p.
This book includes poems written during the first 200 days of the war, from February to September 2022. There are many of them—far more than I had ever written in a six-month period before. I have lived in America for half my life (34 years), where my Russian language now draws its energy from the memories of my Ukrainian childhood summers. I grew up in Siberia but became a biologist on the shores of the Kherson and Odesa regions, where my parents and I camped by the edge of my first sea. The scents and sounds of that timeless realm nourish my universe today, and I gladly share it with everyone who reads this book. Glory to Ukraine!
