Abstract

When it comes to marriage and love in modern society, there has been no sortage of information on how marriage and love have evolved over time. Whilethere have already been many scholarly articles about arraigned marriages and the term courtly love, and how it has been portrayed in literature. However, in this paper i will be re-evaluating the term courtly love and argue that it is till relevant in today's society and that even till this day marriage is a form of power. where it is not as obvious as in the past, using the Television series Reign, season one i will show how courtly love is both relevant and romantazied. Using a pop cultural phenomunal like Reing and evening comparing and contrasting it to the hit show house of cards on netflix , this paper will provide more insight to the power behind marriages and courtly love in modern society. I will develope a rhetoric around the idea of courtly love and how it is back but in a different way.
