Educational Technology Utilization in an Appalachian Ohio County

Presentation #1 Abstract or Summary

Technology usage in educational settings varies from district-to-district in Appalachian areas. This study sought to gather information on the technology usage in one Ohio county on the edge of the Appalachian border. Eight K-12 public school districts were contacted and surveyed with follow up discussion performed on their technology utilization. Trends were sought in methods used to purchase technology, strategies of using technology, and reasons behind technology acquisitions.
