Description
This is a bronze engraved shield entitled: "To the Brave Women of the South" by Adalbert J. Volck, ca. 1890's. Only three are known to exist. Volck was known for his “Civil War Folio” of engravings of Civil War scenes. The shield depicts various vignettes of the southern women during the war. Ca. 1899-1900, Item #RAB1.981, 22 in x 18 in.
