Description
Etching: Abraham Lincoln and Union Gen. Ben Butler depicted as "Don Quixote and Sancho Panza," from Adalbert Johann Volck's "The American Cyclops" folio. These etchings were printed from the 1863 copper plates. Volck greatly disliked Lincoln and was thrown in prison during the Civil War for this caricature and others. Item # 2001.0703.172, ca. 1865, 30.5 x 24 cm.
