The Appalachian Change Agents Archive | Marshall University Research | Marshall Digital Scholar

The Appalachian Change Agents Archive is a collaborative effort of University Libraries, the Graduate Humanities Program, and Step By Step WV to gather and preserve the history of community-based public service and social change in the Appalachian region.

Focused on but not limited to West Virginia, the project seeks to collect and preserve the stories of community organizers, nonprofit leaders, and other “change agents” engaged in mobilizing positive change for the betterment of our communities. It showcases various and distinct voices of people and organizations involved in shaping new visions and possibilities for Appalachian futures at different points in history.

The collection is a home for and welcomes individual and group oral histories, memoirs, photographs, community exhibits, manuscripts, and other organizational papers.

If interested in donating materials to the Appalachian Change Agents Archive, please send an email to Marshall University Special Collections. They will let you know the process of transferring materials to this special sub-section of Special Collections.
