WV Veterans Legacy Project
Presentation #1 Abstract or Summary
The WV Veterans legacy project is a half-million dollar initiative of Glenville State College. the project has interviewed 250 Vets, produced a book, Heroes Among Us, a documentary which showed on WV PBS, A tradtion of Service (55 minutes) a traveling 37-piece photograpjhy exhibit, and a "pop-up" 7 ft by 10 ft. display piece suitable for as a backdrop or along a corridor wall. The exhibit and display piece are ideal for general conference viewing and are easily installed. a 75-minute presentation by Dr. Baber would integrate Vet stories, both light and dark, with historic and patriotic music by George Daugherty, an 80 year old lawyer and Korean Vet. This program has already been performed a half-dozen times.

Dr. Bob Henry Baber is a well-known Appalachian writer, artist, and activist. He co-edited Heroes Among Us and was the director of the WV Veterans Legacy project.

Geirge Daugherty 9aka the Duke of Dunbar and the Earl of Elkview has played music at over 1,000 schools, festivals and fairs. he is still a prcticing attorney.
