Editorial Board Member Responsibilities
Editorial Board Members play a vital role in maintaining the academic quality, integrity, and relevance of the journal. Members are responsible for supporting the peer-review and publication process while ensuring that published manuscripts meet established scientific, methodological, and ethical standards.
Editorial Board Member responsibilities may include:
Conducting initial evaluations of submitted manuscripts to assess suitability, originality, and alignment with the journal’s scope and mission
Evaluating the scientific rigor, research design, methodological quality, and scholarly contribution of submissions
Assisting in the coordination and oversight of the peer-review process, including identifying qualified reviewers and facilitating timely reviews
Reviewing peer-review feedback and providing editorial recommendations regarding manuscript acceptance, revision, or rejection
Ensuring adherence to ethical publishing standards, reporting guidelines, and journal policies
Contributing to the development and maintenance of editorial quality standards and best practices
Supporting the journal’s mission to advance scholarship, research dissemination, and evidence-based practice within its focus areas
Providing subject-matter expertise and professional guidance to uphold the integrity and credibility of the publication process
These responsibilities require expertise in scholarly research, critical appraisal, academic writing, and professional judgment, as well as a commitment to objective and ethical evaluation of scientific work.
