Abstract
In this review, I provide at look into the recently published text Professing Criticism: Essays on the Organization of Literary Study. In doing so, I explore the strengths and weaknesses of the text from a distanced perspective, with some particular attention to the relevance of the text to literary scholars with political orientations and connections to the history of theory.
