The social center of campus for nearly four decades. It was the popular gathering place on campus. It was located in front and just west of the present student center.
Named For: Named for Morris P. Shawkey, president of Marshall from 1923 until 1935
Construction/Completion Date: 1933, addition built in 1955
Demolition/Razed Date: 1972, when Memorial Student Center being constructed
