This collection of images depicts the current and historical buildings that comprise the physical plant of Marshall University. In addition to the holdings of the University Archives, a variety of other sources were consulted including Professor Lisle Brown’s extensive virtual exhibit on Old Main, Archivist Emeritus Cora Teel’s papers on “Building Chronology” and “Building Details,” as well as Carlos Bozzoli’s “Marshall University Architectural Guide,” published by Marshall’s John Deaver Drinko Academy. The majority of the contemporary photos were provided by the official Marshall University photographer, Rick Haye. A few temporary structures have not been included due to a lack of available images (Green village, Gold Cottage, etc.).
Additional information on these and other historic images of the Marshall campus and University life can be found in the University’s Archives and Special Collections Department at http://muwww-new.marshall.edu/library/libraries/special_collections.asp.
Full resolution photos are also available from Marshall University Library Special Collections.
