Abstract

This is an artificial collection of materials purchased or found by James Jeffrey behind a wall panel in a Huntington, WV apartment. The series of letters was found behind said wall panel and the financial ledger was purchased from Lilley’s Bookshop in Parkersburg, WV.

The letters are broken down as follows:

“Ima Turdlet (?)” to “The Right Hon. Mr. E. C. Hatfield Esq”, undated. This is a scathing seven-page letter regarding the breakup or divorce of the writer’s relationship with Hatfield.

Unknown to J. Alden Goodno in December 24, 1928, a Christmas card.

The financial ledger belonged to John A. Smith of Mansfield, Ohio and covers the period 1868-1882. The ledger covers bills and purchases made for his carpentry business, with emphasis on moldings, table legs, and other various accoutrements.
