Presentation #1 Title
What is a Sermon? The Importance of Text, Production, and Performance, Part II
Presentation #1 Abstract
This session continued the conversations about definition, genre, and so on that began in the first roundtable. The primary "takeaway" seemed to be that "sermon" is a category that is very much in flux, and thus perhaps not amenable to a one-size-fits-all approach, It might be better, therefore, to take a case-by-case, context-based approach, rather than attempting to create a single set of criteria or one overarching definition.
