Description

This discourse commemorates two occasions: 40 years since Seift was “installed pastor of the Second Presbyterian Church in Pittsburgh” and his 25th anniversary as pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Allegheny City (now Pittsburgh; p. 5). It has 3 major divisions: “A general outline of the events and changes of this particular locality during the period of forty years” (p. 9); “A definite account of [his] official labors in these cities, in connection with an historical sketch of this Congregation” (p. 22); and “reflections which are suggested by this general review of forty years” (p. 49).
