Having been challenged by his male cousins, Davie took the key to his brother's Chevy and hopped behind its wheel. The consequences of Davie's actions force him through the rite of passage from boyhood into manhood as he takes responsibility for the resulting damages. A grandfather's wisdom in the administration of discipline and justice is revealed in The Chevy Did It as Davie experiences restoration through facing his fear.

Meredith Persinger, a James Madison University graduate student, is receiving her Masters in the Art of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. Meredith is passionate about her Appalachian roots which has taught her the value of a multicultural heritage. Creatively expressing her family's oral history in her writing, Meredith is currently compiling a short story collection that celebrates the region's culture as well as depicting the rich Appalachian landscape.
