The Brown County Educational Service Center has implemented a variety of locally developed initiatives to up level educational opportunities for the 7500 students served in Brown County, Ohio which is a part of Ohio's Appalachian area. Our program areas on poverty awareness, 40 Developmental Assets and mentoring have enabled to students to celebrate their Appalachian heritage, while targeting areas of need within this population. Rebecca Cropper has served as an 4-H Youth Development Educator for 33 years and the 40 Developmental Asset Coordinator for 5 years in Brown County, Ohio . In this role she has utilized a variety of leadership strategies to help students identify strengths in enabling them to become productive citizens.

Evelyn Yockey is a retired educator of 30 years, having worked with middle school students in Appalachian Ohio. She presently works with the Brown County Educational Service Center serving all of Brown County schools wit Community Connectors, a mentoring program which places volunteers into the schools to work one on one with students.

Dee Ann Stricklett has a Masters Degree in Educational Administration and serves as the school based gifted and Talented Coordinator for the Brown County Educational Service Center. She is a John Maxwell certified leadership trainer and has presented leadership workshops locally and nationally for youth and adults.

Stephanie Wagoner serves as a school supervisor at the Brown County Educcation Service Center and a trainer for Ohio's Resident Educator program. She is the coordinator for poverty simulation training in the region .
