Abstract

You are always told to never judge a book by its cover, but when you can't read... it's your window into the story. The Books I Never Read braids C.S. Lewis's The Lion, The Witch and the Wardrobe with personal narrative to share the story of a learning disabled girl struggling between her love for stories and inability to read. Little does she know that her own "wardrobe" is created by her mother's voice, making her like the characters of the books she never read.
