Abstract
“Eggs and Old Spice” is a short character study piece of creative fiction. The short story is on twins, Gerard and Gavin, and a short few minutes of interaction between them in Gavin’s apartment. The character study is focused on the thoughts and memories that the narrator, Gavin, has throughout their interactions including memories of their grandmother and meditation on what it will be like to see his brother in a coffin. While Gerard cooks scrambled eggs – which is, in Gavin’s opinion, the wrong way to cook them – the twins discuss a concert happening that night, a German man, and the relationship between Gerard and his current boyfriend, Michael.
