Abstract
The idea of the flaneur is not new. Made popular by the radical poet Baudelaire, it was taken up into the world of the philosophers by Walter Benjamin. In thinking the Flaneur, I aim to explore the history and development of the concept, examine its appearance in culture and literature, and contemplate its relevance and application to the distanced and digital world we now live in.
