Abstract

Abstract: After 2 years of COVID and everything through a 17-inch monitor or smaller the presenter is excited to bring to you this live performance. In Reader’s Theater the players read and perform a script. This requires no memorization of lines, no costumes, acting, props or scenery. When thinking about the current changes in our world the word community kept being highlighted. This program of several different works is meant to encourage interest, involvement, and support for the changes in our world, in our town and on our very own campus. Reader’s theater exhibits the very essence of the theme, community. The actors, in this piece, the Marshall University Speech and Debate team are pivotal in their roles and their ability to work together makes it a success.

We bring to you the journey of an 11-year-old boy through his community that has experienced change, growth, and loss. See the town as he rides his bike listening to the words spoken about his surroundings and the changes. We must remember he is the hope of the future as we are our own
