Abstract

We consider two algorithms for the computation of Lyapunov exponents for systems of ordinary di erential equations: orbit separation and continuous Gram-Schmidt orthonormal-ization. We also consider two Runge-Kutta methods for the solution of ordinary di erential equations. These algorithms and methods are applied to four three-dimensional systems of ordinary di erential equations, and the results are discussed.
