Abstract
In this paper the author will investigate the workings of the annexation laws of the State of North Carolina as compared to those of selected other states. A case study of an annexation proposed by the City of High Point, North Carolina represents a major source of information as to the reasons for annexation, the arguments against annexation, and the problems encountered in the legal process of annexation.
