Abstract
Although direct observation contributes to college students' understanding of development of the preschool child, valuable time is often wasted because the observer is unsure of what he is to see. Furthermore, students may fail to focus on particular aspects of development in the presence of a variety of stimuli found in the typical nursery school setting.
