Description
INTO Giving Service Learning is a hands-on class where classmates collaborate in a fundraising activity called Money Tree (created by Tony Gilroy), a project where students work with their team to come up with ideas on how to grow their money. Each group is given $20 to turn into as much $$$$ as possible over 5 weeks. The money raised benefits INTO Giving education projects. The Money Tree activity ensures that students develop teamwork, creativity, leadership, as well as financial and marketing skills. Students learn background and operations of INTO Giving, are trained as charity volunteers, receive guidelines about marketing, finances, and charity branding, as well as interact heavily with the campus and community during the semester.
