Appreciation of Lecture to NATC Test Pilots by Captain Charles Yeager, 1949
On June 17th, 1949, Charles Yeager presented a lecture to test pilots regarding the flight text program on the X-1. The letter says that Yeager's lecture had a "tremendous impression" on the test pilots both for his knowledge of the program and the field. Written by the Commander of the Naval Air Force Test Center to the Chief of Staff of the U.S. Air Force.

Appreciation of Lecture to the Institute of the Aeronautical Sciences, 1948
Letter in which Bennet H. Horchler, Executive Vice President of the Institute of the Aeronautical Sciences, notifies Chuck Yeager of his appreciation of a lecture regarding the X-1 program. The letter says that Yeager's lecture was well received, and was a popular event as more were present than there were seats available. A $20 dollar check was included in this letter to reimburse Yeager for expenses.

The first entry is a letter to Captain Yeager regarding a test flight of the XS-1 only a month before the model was used to brake the sound barrier. In this first letter, Colonel Albert Boyd requires explanation of why Captain Yeager exceeded authorized speeds. The second letter contains Captain Yeager's response in which he explains that safety is his primary concern. The letters are dated September 3rd, 1947 and September 9th, 1947.
